Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This notice explains how we handle the personal data of people who visit caffeminotti.it and of guests who book a table at Caffè Minotti, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.
Data controller
MA.RE.SA. S.r.l.s., Via Case Campoli 284, 03029 Veroli (FR), Italy. VAT 03092370604. Email: hello@caffeminotti.it. Certified email (PEC): ma.re.sa@pec.it. Phone: 0775 291895.
What data we process
Browsing data
When you visit the site, the servers that host it automatically record some technical data: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, browser and operating system. We need it to run the site and protect it from abuse.
Statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to know how many visits the site receives and how fast it is. They do not use cookies and do not let us identify you: we only see aggregated figures.
Booking data
If you book online, the data you enter in the form (name, surname, email, phone, number of guests, date, time and any notes) is used to manage your booking. If you book by phone, we need your name, the number of guests, date, time and a contact.
If you tell us about allergies or intolerances, we use that information only to prepare suitable dishes. You give it to us voluntarily, and that is your explicit consent to its use for this purpose.
When you contact us
If you call or write to us (including on WhatsApp), we use your data only to reply. WhatsApp messages go through the service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, under its own privacy policy.
Why we process it, and on what legal basis
- Running and protecting the site, and aggregated statistics: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Managing your booking or request: steps taken at your request and performance of the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Allergies and intolerances: your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR).
- Tax and legal obligations: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
We do not use your data to send you promotions without your consent, and we never sell it.
The online booking form (HappyChef)
The form on the Book page is provided by HappyChef (Verbindingsstraat 6, 2910 Essen, Belgium, company number 1007.951.150). The data you enter in the form is collected by HappyChef, which processes it as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, and passes it on to us so that we can manage the booking. The form is a HappyChef web page shown inside our Book page, and it only loads with your consent; without it, you can book on the HappyChef website or by phone. The cookies it uses are listed in the cookie policy.
Who we share data with
- Vercel Inc. (United States), which hosts the site, as our processor. Transfers to the United States rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Vercel is certified. Vercel privacy policy.
- HappyChef, for online bookings, as described above.
- Google, only if you accept third-party services: the Google Maps map in the “Getting here” section sends your IP address to Google, which processes it under its own privacy policy.
- Advisers and public authorities, only when required by law (for example for tax purposes).
How long we keep it
- Browsing data: for the period set by the hosting provider for technical logs.
- Booking data: for as long as needed to manage the booking, and then for the periods required by law or needed to protect our rights. Data collected by HappyChef is kept for the periods stated in its privacy policy.
- Messages: for as long as needed to reply.
Do you have to give us your data?
No. Without a name, a contact, the date, the time and the number of guests, however, we cannot record a booking.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest or withdraw your consent. Write to hello@caffeminotti.it or ma.re.sa@pec.it, or call 0775 291895. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
